Dear Theta Phi Alphas,
How long have you known the friend you’ve had in your life the longest? I am fortunate to have friends in my life that I have known since I was 12! I’m even more fortunate that one of these friends went to college with me and became a member of Theta Phi Alpha. After college, we volunteered for the Fraternity and served together on the Grand Council from 1998-2001. This dear friend and sister is Wendy Stark Prey, Alpha Pi.

This month, I’d like to use my blog to share some updates on the work being done by the Future of the Board of Trustees special committee appointed by the Grand Council. If you have not read my August 2025 President’s Blog, I encourage you to prior to reading this blog, as it provides information about the reasons for the appointment of the special committee.

Fall has officially arrived in Nebraska! The temperatures are cooler, the humidity has dropped, and the leaves are just beginning to change. With a new academic year underway, our chapters are embracing the excitement of recruitment and welcoming new members.

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio—On September 26, 2025, the Grand Council of Theta Phi Alpha voted to close the Gamma Nu Chapter at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, effective October 1, 2025. This decision, though difficult, was made after careful evaluation of ongoing sustainability challenges impacting the chapter. The Gamma Nu Chapter was initially installed on November 10, 2017.

One question I hear from our members is, “What is national Theta Phi Alpha doing to help my chapter? My association? My position?
BAY VILLAGE, Ohio— Samantha joins Grand Council, bringing knowledge of our collegian chapters and recruitment practices. A 2003 initiate of the Epsilon Chapter at The University of Cincinnati, Samantha has spent the last ten years volunteering with collegians and, most recently, as the Program Manager for Emerging Chapters and Recruitment Advisor at Epsilon.
