April Pt. 2: 2026 President’s Blog

Dear Theta Phi Alphas,

Happy Founders’ Day!  Theta Phi Alpha designates April 30th as the day we remember and honor Amelia, Dorothy, Katrina, Mildred, Selma, Otilia, Camilla, Helen, May, and Eva for founding Theta Phi Alpha. I hope you can attend a Founders’ Day celebration this spring to honor and celebrate our Founders. In 1931, our Founders chose Justice, Friendship, and Truth as the first motto of Theta Phi Alpha. I know they would be proud that we continue to embrace justice, nurture friendships, and value truth, the motto, and the values they envisioned for our organization in 1912.

Theta Phi Alpha has much to celebrate in April, as in addition to celebrating our Founders’ Day, we also celebrate our national officers and volunteers. April 19 – 26 is designated as National Volunteer Week. Our national and local officers and volunteers are the heart of Theta Phi Alpha! These members give their energies, abilities, and talents daily for the betterment of Theta Phi Alpha and our members. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your Ever Loyal, Ever Lasting commitment! We could not do what we do without you!

We are always looking for members to join our volunteer team. You can find the volunteer application form on the Volunteer page on the Theta Phi Alpha website

You can find my 2026 Founders’ Day Proclamation in print and video form on our website’s Founders’ Day page. I encourage you to honor our Founders and a Theta Phi Alpha mentor with a gift to the Theta Phi Alpha Foundation. Learn more about joining Theta Phi Alphas in Following the Compass to Founders’ Day and the impact you will make on Theta Phi Alpha and our members.

I was fortunate to attend three Founders’ Day events this year – Alpha Tau chapter (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University) at their 40th anniversary celebration, Alpha Pi (Wayne State College)/Northeastern Nebraska Alumnae Association, and Chi (The Creighton University), and read my 2026 Founders’ Day Proclamation in person. Please enjoy the pictures from these events. Did you attend a Founders’ Day Celebration in person? Please submit a photo using our Photo and Video Submission form.

Celebrating 40 years and Founders’ Day with Alpha Tau Chapter (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University). I’m pictured with the Charter Members who attended the celebration.
I am an initiate of Alpha Pi Chapter (Wayne State College). I always enjoy returning home to celebrate Founders’ Day with chapter members.
It was a beautiful spring day in Nebraska for Chi Chapter (The Creighton University) to celebrate Founders' Day!
