Dear Theta Phi Alphas,
Happy Founders’ Day! Theta Phi Alpha designates April 30th as the day we remember and thank Amelia, Dorothy, Katrina, Mildred, Selma, Otilia, Camilla, Helen, May, and Eva for founding Theta Phi Alpha. I hope you can attend a Founders’ Day celebration this spring to honor and celebrate our Founders’. I wonder if our Founders thought Theta Phi Alpha would provide our members a place of belonging in 2025. I know they would be proud that we continue to embrace justice, nurture friendships, and value truth, the values they envisioned for our organization in 1912.
April is not only the month we celebrate our Founders, but it is also the month we recognize and thank our national officers and volunteers. April 20-25, 2025, is designated as National Volunteer Week. Theta Phi Alpha’s national and local officers and volunteers are the heart of our organization. These members give their energies, abilities, and talents daily for the betterment of Theta Phi Alpha and our members. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your Ever Loyal, Ever Lasting commitment! We could not do what we do without you! We are always looking for members to join our volunteer team. This summer, we will unveil our new volunteer appointment process and application form. Until this time, please contact Lily Keister, Coordinator of Programming and Membership Engagement, at programming@thetaphialpha.org to discuss volunteer opportunities.
You can find my 2025 Founders’ Day Proclamation in print and video form on our website’s Founders’ Day page. I encourage you to honor our Founders with a gift to the Theta Phi Alpha Foundation. Your donation helps the Foundation support the Fraternity and its members by providing funds for areas such as leadership education, membership programming, educational technology, scholarships, and disaster relief. If you cannot attend a Founders’ Day Celebration in person, you can make your virtual roll call Founders’ Day gift here. Did you attend a Founders’ Day Celebration in person? Please submit a photo using our Photo and Video Submission form.

Yours in the Bonds of Sisterhood,
