Coronavirus (COVID-19) is dominating news coverage across the country. The health and safety of our members is of the utmost importance to us. Theta Phi Alpha National Office remains open and working diligently on chapter preparations in response to the virus. We are encouraging chapters and alumnae associations and clubs to follow CDC and local guidelines in regards to gatherings and events.
We encourage you to stay aware and informed by reading any information shared by your college/university and monitoring the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) websites.

March 10 Statement to Chapter Leadership Team: Theta Phi Alpha is treating the health and safety of our members as our number one priority as we continue to evaluate concerns surrounding COVID-19. We understand that several campuses have suspended in-person classes and have moved to remote and online methods of learning. We recognize this in the spirit of caution, and Theta Phi Alpha supports these measures taken by our campus partners.
If your campus has suspended in-person classes and large gatherings, please contact us as follows:
- Email Theta Phi Alpha National Office at [email protected] with your campus status.
- If your new member education plans will need to be altered with remote learning, or if initiation is scheduled during the time of campus closures, please notify Candice Bender at [email protected].
- If you have concerns about chapter operations during this time, please contact Ashley Crews at collegiateservices@thetaphialpha.org.
Theta Phi Alpha is monitoring this situation on our college campuses on a daily basis but we appreciate your assistance in sharing updates about your campus as soon as you hear of them. Please encourage your sisters to download the OurHouse app, if they haven’t already. We will be pushing out notifications through the app as the situation evolves.
March 10 Statement: Out of an abundance of caution for the safety and health of our employees, Theta Phi Alpha has made the decision to cancel all air travel for our staff through the end of March. This includes a cancellation of all campus visits by our Leadership Consultants (LCs). LCs will be wrapping up their current campus visits this week and then returning home to support chapters remotely. This travel restriction will be reassessed at the end of March to determine if travel is safe to resume in April.
