The generous support of dues-paying sisters keeps Theta Phi Alpha running and growing. Here is a sampling of some ongoing and recent projects made possible thanks to your Alumnae Dues.
National Office
- Rent payments for the ΘΦΑ National Office — 1,400 square feet of office space
- Staffing needs — Full-time Executive Director, Chapter Services Director, and three part-time employees
- Over 5,000 hours of work by staff members each year, including approximately 3,200 phone calls and 7,500 e-mails answered
Strategic Planning
- In the early implementation phase of a 20-year Strategic Plan for Theta Phi Alpha
- Start of search for a permanent ΘΦΑ National Headquarters
- Convention 2012 planning — ΘΦΑ’s Centennial Celebration!
Expansion
- Continued Fraternity growth, with 14 new and re-opened chapters, 6 new alumnae associations, and 2 new alumnae clubs in the
last 5 years
- Current colonies at New England College in Henniker, N.H., and Indiana University-South Bend in South Bend, Ind.
- Extension presentations and exploratory visits at interested campuses
Chapter and Alumnae Support
- Launch of Compass Chapters, a new 4-year program that supports newly-installed chapters
- Two Traveling Educational Consultants who visit all ΘΦΑ chapters and colonies
- One-on-one communication between national officers and chapters/associations
- Award and recognition programs
Membership Education
- Development and launch of Reflections membership education program
- Large-scale revision and launch of My Sister, My Friend pledge sister education program
- Sponsor of National Hazing Prevention Week
- Chapter Development Guides, on topics such as scholarship, recruitment, Ritual, public relations, fund raising, and officer transition
- Alumnae Association Start-Up Guide and Operations Manual
Communications
- Design and publication of The Compass and The Pearl
- Design, hosting, and maintenance of www.thetaphialpha.org, plus a variety of new website features
- Publication of ΘΦΑ biennial reports
- Improved online reporting for chapters and associations
Leadership Development
- Programming for ΘΦΑ National Convention and Leadership Conference
- New ΘΦΑ Presidents’ Academy and Institute for chapter vice presidents held each year
- Regional Conferences for collegians to learn more about ways to enhance their chapters
Support of Volunteer National Officers
- Training and professional development
- Operational costs (e.g., travel, correspondence, manuals, photocopies, and phone expenses)
- Monthly Outstanding Volunteer recognition program
Heritage
- Centennial history book project underway to commemorate 100 years of Theta Phi Alpha
- Acquisition of badges (including the badge of Founder May C. Ryan!) and other historical items
- Trademarking of the name Theta Phi Alpha, Greek letters ΘΦΑ, Ever Loyal, Ever Lasting logo, Coat of Arms, and Badge
- License Agreement with Affinity Marketing Consultants to ensure that only licensed vendors use our trademarked symbols
